National Cheng Kung University Medical College, Taiwan
Wenya Huang is a professor at the Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology, College of Medicine National Cheng Kung University. She received her PhD from the Wayne State University, USA and continued as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas. She has been a faculty member at National Cheng Kung University since 1999Dr. Huang’s lab is involved in molecular carcinogenesis. The research topics studied there include DNA damage, DNA repair, oxidative stress, genomic instability, etc. The types of cancer currently being researched include breast, liver and lung cancer, which are associated with oxidative stress and DNA damage. Dr. Huang is working in the area of DNA repair. In addition to DNA repair pathways, recent research interests in her lab have focused on developing easy and effective approaches to screen high-risk genotypes for oxidative stress-induced carcinogenesis.
